Paceman James Anderson returns to Lancashire's side for the Division One clash after England forced him to sit out the first match of the season.

He comes in for injured seamer Oliver Newby, while leg-spinner Simon Marshall is also named in the 12-man squad.

Somerset will be without veteran seamer Andy Caddick, who is again struggling with his troublesome back.

The main decision looks to be whether to retain paceman Ben Phillips, or name Michael Munday as a second spinner.
