West Indies ripped out Australia's top order to revive their hopes of victory in the first Test in Jamaica.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit 118 out of a total of 312 by the home side, but they still trailed by 119 on first innings.

Australia's grip on the game was shaken, however, as Fidel Edwards and Daren Powell claimed two wickets each.

Phil Jaques, Simon Katich, captain Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey all went for single figure scores to leave the tourists 17-4 at the end of day three.

More follows.
