Derbyshire v Essex

Derbyshire all-rounder Greg Smith misses out because of a pulled arm muscle, with Dan Birch set to come in.

Wicket-keeper Fred Klokker will play as a batsman, and seamer Jonathan Clare is in line to make his professional debut.

England opener Alastair Cook makes his first appearance of the season for Essex, while paceman Alex Tudor is added to the team that faced Northants.

However, all-rounder Graham Napier remains on the sidelines with a knee problem and is due to see a consultant.
