The first match will be on 1 November against Stanford's Super Stars, a West Indies select XI, at Sir Allen's private cricket ground in Antigua.

Each winning player will receive £500,000 with a further £1m split among squad players and the coaching staff.

It is the richest team prize for a single sporting match.

The deal will be for five years with a match annually.

England coach Peter Moores said players were happy with the deal and denied there had been a split in the camp.

He said: "In modern sport you realise that players get paid different amounts. It's quite a ruthless business."

More follows.
