Brothers Steve and Ben Harmison shared six wickets as Friends Provident Trophy holders Durham saw off Scotland by 38 runs at the Riverside.

It put the north-east county level on points with Derbyshire at the top of the North group table.

Durham totalled 230-6 after being asked to bat first, With Dale Benkenstein making 68 and Phil Mustard 57.

Scotland struggled to 51-5 in reply and although Neil McCallum hit 60, the Harmisons had the decisive say.

England fast bowler Steve claimed 3-39 and he ended McCallum's gallant 83-ball knock, which contained a six and eight fours, by bowling him with a yorker.

His younger sibling operated at around 10mph less in pace but included Sciotland skipper Ryan Watson (26) among his victims as he returned figures of 3-43.

Gavin Hamilton managed only 13 on his return to his former county before edging a ball from Callum Thorp to the keeper.

And it was Thorp who returned to finish things off in the 47th over of Scotland's reply by having Dewald Nel caught for 14 after an enterprising last-wicket stand with Glenn Rogers, who was unbeaten on 19.
