Lancashire's Mal Loye has admitted the highlight of his benefit year would be to guide the county to some silverware.
The 35-year-old batsman, currently involved in the county's championship opener against Surrey, believes every player has to fight for their place.
"The competition is huge," he told BBC Radio Lancashire. The squad now has a lot more depth to it.
"It's as big as I've ever known it at Lancashire and I think that's healthy for a club of our size."
Loye is also confident that Lancashire, who have won just two trophies in eight years (the National League Division Two title in 2003 and the county championship second division crown in 2005) have enough quality to compete in every competition.
"We're more experienced with the younger players coming through," said Loye. "And we've always said the minimum of two trophies for a club like Lancashire is not asking too much."
