Hampshire captain Dimitri Mascarenhas made a winning Indian Premier League debut as Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Daredevils by three-wickets.
He is the only England-qualified player in the Twenty20 tournament, where franchises are limited to four overseas players per match.
Shane Warne, Shane Watson, Graeme Smith and Sohail Tanvir were all picked before the 30-year-old until Sunday.
Mascarenhas' Hampshire team-mates are continuing their county campaign.
However he put in a solid performance after he was finally given the chance to make an impression for the Jaipur-based side.
Mascarenhas captured the wickets of AB de Villiers and Dinesh Karthik and finished with figures of two for 39, but he struggled with the bat.
He smashed spinner Virender Sehwag over long-off but was bowled by the same player for nine when he missed a slower delivery which crashed onto his middle stump.
