Surrey fast bowler Jimmy Ormond has signed a new one-year contract, after proving his fitness to the club.

Ormond, who made two England Test appearances in 2001 and took one wicket against Australia, has struggled with injury for the last two seasons.

The 30-year-old has spent the close season training with the club for free and has been rewarded with a new deal.

Ormond told BBC London 94.9: "I am obviously really pleased to get a contract after a lot of hard work."
